Hotels in Thailand generally offer wonderful value - starting at under US$30 for a 3 or 4 Star hotel right on the beach for example. And that is per room, not per person, and often a free breakfast is provided.
If you are staying from 2 weeks to a month or longer, you will find the hotels are more than ready to offer a substantial discount, particularly if you are not staying during the high season from November through February.
